Mazowieckie Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej (Elektrownia) | Radom | Poland
The exhibition is a summary of the 36th international plein-air “Geometry and beauty”, which took place in Sept. 2018 in Radziejowice. 40 artists from Europe and the USA took part in it. The presented works are a donation for the Mazowieckie Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej „Elektrownia”, made by curator of Plein-air – dr. Bożena Kowalska that has been creating her own collection of geometric art for the past 9 years, including 428 works. Both terms “Geometry and beauty” – at the same time characterize this collection.
The story of Open air dates back to 1983. They took place successively in Białowieża, Okunince, Orońsko and in 2009 in Radziejowice. Their effect was to create three collections of geometric abstraction: the District Museum in Chełm, the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko and the Mazovian Center for Contemporary Art (Elektrownia) in Radom. The collection at Elektrownia currently has 477 works, among which there are spatial objects, paintings, drawings and graphics.
